Grandmother threw 3-year-old against floor and wall, killing the child, Texas cops say
A woman threw her 3-year-old grandson against the floor and wall killing the infant, police said.
Now, she has been charged with murder.
This week, police in Denton, Texas, arrested 57-year-old Angela Downing in connection to the toddler’s death. The child was declared brain dead on Jan. 22, according to Denton police.
On Jan. 18, child services told police about a severely injured child being treated at the hospital. Downing told medical staff the child accidentally fell down a flight of stairs, according to Denton police.
Investigators determined the child’s injuries were not accidental.
During an interview with police, Downing admitted to throwing the child on the bathroom floor and against the wall, according to Denton police. Downing was the child’s legal guardian.
The victim had a skull fracture and suffered a brain bleed. He was declared brain dead a few days after coming to the hospital.
