Pennsylvania Man Accused Of Raping 10-Year-Old Daughter Of His Girlfriend: Police
A Pennsylvania man is behind bars after he was accused of raping a 10-year-old girl while her mother was away, authorities said in a criminal complaint.
Police in Towanda Borough opened an investigation into the alleged incidents after the girlfriend of Michael Anthony Widrig, 34, alleged he had sexually assaulted her child, states the complaint obtained by WETM-TV.
The mother claimed to police she took her baby son and daughter and left Widrig for a safe place on Jan. 8 after the girl gave her a note in which she wrote he had raped her, according to the complaint.
When investigators spoke with the alleged victim on Jan. 10, the child claimed Widrig was naked from the waist down when he had her lie next to him on a couch and started touching her, the complaint states.
The girl alleged Widrig held her down, forced her to touch him, commanded she “shut up and deal with it,” and threatened to hurt her mother, police wrote in the complaint.
During a second incident that allegedly occurred around a week later, the complaint states the victim claimed to investigators that while her mother was again out of the house, Wildrig forced her onto the couch and touched her and made her touch him.
Widrig faces 12 felony charges, including rape of a child, aggravated indecent assault of a child, and corruption of minors, among others, police said.
He was being held on a $500,000 bond at the Bradford County Correctional Facility and is scheduled to appear in court on May 18.
