According to the prosecutor's office, the Lakewood Township Police Department responded to a residence on Shenandoah Drive at around 4:50 p.m. on June 25, following a report of two children in cardiac arrest.

Officers arrived to find Hatzolah Medical Services attempting lifesaving measures on both children, ages one and three.

Their efforts were unsuccessful, and both children were pronounced dead at the scene.

An investigation by Lakewood Police, Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit, and the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit revealed that the 1-year-old victim was stabbed before both children were drowned.
