Two Children In North Carolina Found Alive In Car Where Two Adults Were Fatally Shot, Police Say
A North Carolina man was arrested in connection with the murder of two adults who were killed in a car found with young children inside, authorities said.
Eric Coley, 42, faces two counts of first-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a felon, WTVD reported.
According to the Rocky Mount Police Department, around 6 a.m. on Dec. 1, workers at Barnhill Construction phoned 911 about a car in the employee parking area.
Inside the vehicle, two toddlers were found alive and two adults shot dead. The adult victims were later identified as Destiny Wiggins, 24, and 28-year-old Devone Brown.
The children were uninjured but they were transported to an area hospital to be checked out and then released.
Coley was booked into the Nash County Detention Facility, where he was being held without bond.
Law enforcement officials have not said how they identified Coley as a suspect or revealed a possible motive in the double homicide case.
