Virginia Father Accused of Killing 4-Year-Old Son Six Months Before Reporting Him Missing

A new two-count indictment has been returned by a grand jury in Virginia alleging Cory Bigsby killed his 4-year-old son several months before he reported him missing to police.
According to the indictment, Biggsby allegedly killed his son Codi Bigsy on or around June 18, 2021. He then concealed, transported and altered the body “with malicious intent and to prevent detection of an unlawful act or to prevent the detection of death or the manner or cause of death."
Six months later, Bigsby reported Codi missing to police.
Around 9 a.m. on Jan. 31, 2022, Bigsby contacted Hampton Police and said he last saw his son around 2 a.m.
Hampton Police held a press conference at that time and Chief Mark Talbot said he hadn’t received completely reliable information and the “evidence that we have does not completely match the stories that we have received at this point.”
Two days after the news conference, Hampton Police named Bigsby as a person of interest in Codi’s disappearance. He was later arrested on suspicion of child neglect, police said.

According to WAVY-TV, Bigsby now faces 30 counts of child abuse. Those counts relate to Bigsby allegedly leaving his children home alone and not seeking medical care for one of his children, who was hurt.
Meanwhile, Codi’s body has still not been found.
