Volunteer Bible Study Teacher Accused Of Sexual Assaulting Children, Police Ask Other Victims To Come Forward

A volunteer Bible study teacher is accused of sexual assault on children and police are asking any other victims to come forward.
Last week, the Colorado Springs Police Department announced the arrest of Carlton Ranquist, 63. He was charged with two counts of sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust and two counts of sexual exploitation of children.
He was arrested in Maine and, last week was sent to a Colorado jail.
In July 2021, the Colorado Springs police started an investigation after a report of a sexual assault on a child between 2015 and 2017.
Police also identified a second minor victim of sexual abuse that happened between 2008 and 2010, authorities said.
Investigators said in 2013, when Ranquist lived in Colorado Springs, he volunteered as a bible study teacher at Colorado Springs Central Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
