A woman is accused of kidnapping a child a gunpoint and now she faces a host of charges.
The child was eventually released unharmed, police said.
Last week, police announced that Amber Green, 38, was charged with first-degree burglary, felony menacing and violation of a custody order.
Around 7 a.m. on June 21, the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office in Colorado responded to a residence for a report of a parent without custody who forced their way into home. Deputies said Green went to the home, forced her way inside and then took the child at gunpoint.
Green then fled the area with the victim, deputies said.
Deputies started to search for the two. Around 3:30 p.m., Green met with the child’s father in a parking lot and gave back the victim. Green was then arrested without incident.
Police also found the alleged gun used in the abduction.
