85-year-old found murdered in his Colorado home, two suspects arrested
An 85-year-old man was murdered and robbed in his Colorado home and police say they have arrested two suspects in connection to his death.
On Dec. 29, Adams County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to Wagner Street in Strasburg, Colorado, where they found the elderly man dead in the home. There were items missing from the home, including a vehicle.
The victim’s name has not been released.
The next day, police spotted the vehicle at an apartment complex, according to the sheriff’s office. Detectives determined that Joshua Stephen Miles, 29, and Kyli Leanne Ferguson, 28, were the suspects and associated with the complex.
Deputies raided the complex and found evidence associated with the murder.
The deputies also found evidence that led to a hotel room. Officers found the suspects and tried to arrest them, but they tried to run. Deputies captured the two and arrested them.
Miles was charged with first-degree murder, second-degree murder, first-degree burglary, first-degree assault, crime against an at-risk adult resulting in death, aggravated motor vehicle theft, tampering with physical evidence, possession of a weapon by a previous offender and multiple controlled substance offenses.
Ferguson was charged with first-degree murder, second-degree murder, first-degree burglary, first-degree assault, crime against an at-risk adult resulting in death, aggravated motor vehicle theft, tampering with physical evidence and multiple controlled substance offenses.
