Gunshot Victim Arrives At Hospital With A Cop Standing Nearby, Suspect Arrested Weeks Later
A cop was investigating a case at a Colorado hospital when a gunshot victim arrived. The wounds turned out to be fatal, sparking a homicide investigation.
Now, police say they have the suspected killer in custody.
Around 2:30 a.m. on March 27, a Greeley, Colorado, police officer was at the hospital for a call. That is when a vehicle pulled up with a gunshot victim inside.
The victim was a 31-year-old man who was taken to emergency surgery, according to Greeley police. He had life-threatening injuries and died a few days later.
The victim was identified as Eric Maxwell.
Investigators determined the shooting happened on 24th Street and identified Anthony Roy Farias, 26, as a suspect. This week, police arrested Farias and he was charged with first-degree murder.
Greeley police did not release a motive in the shooting but said the investigation is ongoing.
