Man charged in connection to fatal motel sooting, but it took Colorado police a week to announce the arrest
A man has been arrested in connection to the fatal shooting at a Colorado motel earlier this month, police said.
Around 3:30 p.m. on March 15, the Adams County Sheriff’s Office in Colorado responded to a Venture Inn motel for a report of a dead man. When deputies arrived, they saw the victim dead in the doorway.
The victim had been shot in the torso. His name has not been released.
Police identified Hayden Allen Banks, 31, as a suspect in the case. Though, investigators did not say how they linked him to the case or a possible motive.
On March 18, Banks was found at another motel and arrested. While he was arrested then, the announcement of his apprehension didn’t happen until March 24. Banks was charged with first-degree murder and possession of a weapon by a previous offender.
Banks is being held in jail pending further court hearings.
