A woman has been arrested after a man she lived with overdosed on a mixture of drugs and orange juice, police said.
Olivia Battistini, 31, has been charged with criminally negligent homicide by the Meriden police in Connecticut.
On Jan. 7, 2021, officers responded to the 500 block of Crown Village in Meriden for a possible overdose, police stated.
When they arrived, officers learned the victim may have accidentally ingested methadone mixed with orange juice, according to Meriden police. Methadone is a drug that can be used to treat addiction.
The unnamed victim was taken to the hospital, where he died.
During the investigation, officers found that Battistini, who lived with the victim, mixed methadone with orange juice and left it on the table, police noted.
Cops believe the victim drank the orange juice not knowing there was methadone mixed in.
Battistini was arrested on Jan. 27, and her bond was set at $100,000.
