A man sold a person’s home from under them without their knowledge, and now he faces a litany of charges, police said.
Last week, police in Newtown, Connecticut, announced the arrest of Edwin Robert Lewis.
Police said they conducted a lengthy investigation into the sale of a home. A homeowner found their residence was sold and the paperwork of the sale was filed with the town.
Investigators did not say how much the home sold for.
Lewis was identified as the fraudulent seller and he was arrested.
Authorities charged Lewis with second-degree money laundering, first-degree identify theft, first-degree larceny and other charges. He was released after posting $150,000 bond.
