Suspect confessed to gunning down convenience store worker in Pennsylvania, cops say
A man is accused of gunning down a convenience store worker in Pennsylvania.
Last week, Sameer Abdullah was shot and killed at the Empire Smoke and Phone Store in Ridley Township, Pennsylvania, according to Ridley Township police. Abdullah was shot multiple times in the upper body, at close range, with a revolver.
Police say the motive is unknown, but it was not a robbery.
“By all accounts, Abdullah was hard working and well respected. This is a tragic and senseless loss of life,” police said in a release detailing the case.
Detectives investigated and determined Shawn Williams, 39, was the shooter, according to Ridley Township police. Authorities did not release how they connected Williams to the alleged crime.
Williams was interviewed and confessed to the murder, police noted.
This week, police charged Williams with homicide in connection to Abdullah’s death.
