Man Accused Of Impersonating Cop, Killing Man In 2014 Arrested In Alabama, Police Say
An Alabama suspect is accused of killing a man while impersonating a police officer over eight years ago, authorities said.
On Dec. 19, police in Mobile took Jervoris Scarbrough, 38, into custody in connection with the death of 29-year-old David Kyles. Scarbrough faces charges of first-degree kidnapping as well as murder, WKRG reported.
According to the station, in October 2014, Kyles was found shot dead near an intersection. Police launched an investigation and believe Scarbrough allegedly impersonated a cop, pulled the victim’s vehicle over and shot him.
Citing police records, according to WKRG, the suspect has a long criminal history that includes charges of domestic violence, theft, and receiving stolen property, among others.
Police did not release further details about the case.
