Corpus Christi police arrest man in connection to deadly shooting

A shooting left one person dead as Corpus Christi, Texas police announced an arrest in a homicide investigation last week.

Police say they arrested Rober Johnson, 29, after he turned himself in.

At approximately 4:29 a.m. March 8 officers went to the area of the 4800 block of South Alamada for a shooting with injuries, police say.

Police say they made contact with a 28-year-old man who had been shot and was suffering sesrious injuries. The man was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

Speaking with witnesses, police were able to identify Johnson as a suspect. Investigators made contact with Johnson, who told police that he would turn himself in.

At approximately 9:30 p.m. Johnson turned himself in and met with homicide detectives, police say.

After speaking with investigators, Johnson was taken to the City Detention Center at approximately midnight March 9. He was booked on a murder charge.
