Meeting at Ohio Dairy Queen Turns Deadly After Teenage Suspect Guns Down Multiple People, Police Say
An Ohio teenager is under arrest after he allegedly murdered another teen at a Dairy Queen restaurant, authorities said.
On Aug. 30, a Franklin County Municipal Court judge ordered Mehki Lewis, 18, held on $3 million bond in connection with the shooting death of 19-year-old Nathaniel Joe-Summerall in Columbus, WCMH reported.
According to police, Mehki, Joe-Summerall, and several others met for what is believed to be a “planned meeting” at a Dairy Queen restaurant.
While in the parking lot of the ice cream business, a fight erupted and Joe-Summerall and a second victim were gunned down, police said.
Joe-Summerall was killed and the second victim was transported to Riverside Methodist Hospital. The second victim reportedly survived the incident.
Court records obtained by WCMH show detectives were able to identify Mehki’s vehicle and they located him three days later. Police claimed the suspect allegedly admitted to being involved in Joe-Summerall’s murder, according to the court records.
