Police in Ohio say two women propped up a dead man in the passenger seat of his car, drove him to the bank, withdrew money from his account and then dropped his body off at a hospital.
On March 4, officers were called to Ashtabula County Medical Center after the women left without identifying the man or themselves, according to court records obtained by WYFF.
Hours later, one of the women called the hospital and identified the dead man as 80-year-old Douglas Layman.
Officials said one of the women in a relationship with Layman and they lived together.
The women, later identified as 63-year-old Karen Casbohm and 55-year-old Bea Feralo, told authorities they found Layman dead on March 4 and called a friend to help them get him into his car so they could go to the bank.
They claimed to investigators they routinely went to the bank to take out money from Layman’s account, which the bank allowed as long as he was in the car.

When asked about taking out the money before going to the hospital, the women told police that “they wanted to pay some bills but outside of that, there wasn’t a specific motivation provided,” Lt. Mike Palinkas told WYFF.
Authorities said one of the females was in a relationship with Layman for about around eight years and they moved in together shortly after they started dating. The other woman had been staying with the couple several months when the incident occurred, police said.
