A Delaware man has been arrested after he allegedly abducted an 11-year-old girl he met online playing Roblox and took her from New Jersey to Delaware without her parents’ knowledge or consent, according to authorities.
Around 6:45 a.m. on Sept. 10, police responded to an area in Wayne, New Jersey, about the missing child, according to the Wayne Police Department.
Shortly after the victim was reported missing, officers located her states away, in Bear, Delaware, authorities said.
Investigators believe 27-year-old Darius Matylewich met the young girl while playing an online video game, identified by WPVI-TV as Roblox.
Matylewich then allegedly took the girl 135 miles from New Jersey to Delaware.
Matylewich was arrested in Bear and was extradited to New Jersey to face charges of kidnapping in the first degree and endangering the welfare of a child in the third degree, officials said.
