74-year-old man accused of opening fire at ex-wife's home, killing her: cops
A 74-year-old man in Delaware is accused of killing his ex-wife and nearly killing another person in a shooting, police said.
Around 6:15 p.m. on Dec. 22, Delaware State Police responded to a Bridgeville, Delaware, home for a reported shooting.
A 70-year-old woman was in the home with her 23-year-old grandson, according to Delaware State Police. Ronald Donaway, 74, came to the home and began shooting a rifle into the windows of the living room, kitchen and bedroom.

The woman, Donaway’s ex-wife, was shot and killed, Delaware Police noted. The 23-year-old escaped out of a bedroom window and was uninjured.
Donaway went into the home for a moment before fleeing the area in a black Kia, police said. As troopers were on the way, they saw the vehicle and stopped Donaway near the scene. He was taken into custody without incident.
Troopers charged Donaway with first-degree murder, possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony, home invasion and first-degree reckless endangering. His bond was set at $900,000.
