Indiana police seek information about online social media profile as part of Delphi murder investigation
A break in the Delphi murder case?
Investigators in Indiana working the case of Abigail Williams and Liberty German, the teenagers who managed to record their killer on a Snapchat video and a voice recording before their 2017 slayings in Delphi, are requesting information about a specific social media profile.
Between 2016 and 2017, someone created the fictitious online profile “anthony_shots” on Instagram, Snapchat and other applications and used the accounts, which among other images featured a male model, stacks of cash, and luxury vehicles, to contact underage girls.
According to the Indiana State Police, the profile’s creator solicited nude photographs from the minors and attempted to get their addresses in order to meet them.
The model used in the faked account, officials said, is not a person of interest in Williams and Liberty’s murder investigation and they have already identified him.
The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office and Indiana State Police have not publicly revealed the possible link between the profile and the Delphi killings, according to WXIN.
The two girls went hiking on a trail near Delphi and were killed. One of the victims managed to get a short video of their killer, but police have yet to make the arrest. Some have called the case cold, but police insist they are investigating.
Anyone with information about the profile, including past saved images or conversations, should notify authorities using the tip email abbyandlibbytip@cacoshrf.com or the tip line (765) 822-3535.
