Denny's employee shot outside Kansas restaurant, suspect arrested
A man is in custody in connection to the fatal shooting of a Denny’s employee in Kansas last month.
Around 2:30 a.m. on Nov. 10, Wichita police responded to a shooting at a Denny’s. There they found Monzell Brocks, 45, who was shot. He was taken to the hospital, where he died from his injuries, according to Wichita police.
Investigators determined several people arrived at the business and sat at a table, according to Wichita police. Brocks worked at the restaurant and sat with the group while they were there.
As the group left, Brocks went outside and shots were fired, hitting the employee, police said.
Officers found drugs, two handguns and shell casings at the scene, according to Wichita police. Investigators said they did not believe the shooting was random.
Last week, police arrested Marshall Green Jr., in connection to the case, according to KAKE. He was charged with intentional second-degree murder.
