An argument at a house party ended with a double killing. Now, prosecutors said two brothers have been indicted on murder charges.
Last week, the Denver District Attorney’s Office announced that a grand jury indicted Sergio Rodarte Jr., 24, and Andrew Rodarte, 23, in connection to a 2021 double killing.
On May 1, 2021, Mariceo Negrete and Josiah Salas were at a house party in Denver, prosecutors said. The two suspects arrived and got into an argument with Negrete. There was no word on what the argument was over.
That is when Sergio and Andrew allegedly took out guns and shot and killed the two victims, prosecutors said. Their deaths were both classified as homicides by gunshot wounds.
Both suspects were charged with four counts of first-degree murder. Prosecutors noted they were charged under different theories of the case.
The two suspects are scheduled to return to court in December.
