Newly released body-worn camera video shows a pair of Florida sheriff's deputies chasing an escaped goat in a comedic foot pursuit before eventually capturing him.

The Marion County Sheriff's Office said Deputy Victoria Hammons and Deputy Federico Peguero recently were dispatched to a call about a goat that escaped its enclosure.

The video shows Hammons and Pequero running around after the young goat, which was determined to remain free.

The deputies attempted to coax and sweet talk the goat, and tried to toss a blanket over him, but he continued running away.

"This is gonna be the best bodycam video ever," Hammons can be heard saying.

"They wasted no time, but as you see in the video 'Billy the Kid' was feeling a bit 'baaa-d' that day and made a valiant effort to avoid them. After about five minutes of a comedic hoof pursuit, Deputy Hammons apprehended the ‘hoove-nile delinquent,’" the sheriff's office wrote alongside the video, which was sped up and set to music reminiscent of a cartoon chase sequence.

After the goat was finally captured, a woman at the property informed the deputies of an older female goat that had become stuck in a fence nearby.

After returning the young goat back to its enclosure, the deputies helped free her.

The goat, who had recently given birth, was trapped in a chain-link fence.

"Deputy Hammons was able to untangle the chain-link fence and freed the mama to care for her newborns," the sheriff's office said.
