Man Shot His Own Brother To Death Through A Closed Door, Prosecutors Said
In Detroit, a man is accused of fatally shooting his brother and now faces a murder charge, prosecutors said.
Around 1:15 a.m. on March 31, Detroit police responded to a home for a report of a person with a weapon. When police arrived, they found Dazion Zachary, 23, in the basement with a gunshot wound to his chest.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Wayne County Office of the Prosecuting Attorney.
Prosecutors said his brother, Christopher Johnson, 32, fired a handgun through a closed door in the home. Though, investigators have not said what led him to fire at his brother.
Christopher Johnson was charged with second-degree murder, discharge in or at a building causing death, felony firearm and felon in possession of a firearm. The charges were announced last week.
He is being held in jail without bond.
