Detroit Man Accused Of Killing His Girlfriend's Toddler With Blunt Force: Report

A man in Detroit faces charges after police said he murdered his girlfriend’s toddler son, according to reports.
Detroit police announced last week that Laurence James Powell, 27, was charged in connection to the homicide of a 2-year-old.
Powell is the boyfriend of the victim’s mother, according to Detroit police. He was arrested after the child was injured, now that the victim died, Powell was charged with murder.
According to WDIV, the victim was taken to a hospital on Aug. 17 with blunt force trauma. The victim had injuries to his head and spine. The victim died a few days later.
Police did not say how the child suffered the injuries.
He is being held in a Michigan jail.
