'Dirt Bikers Do Not Listen': Ohio Man Accused of Striking, Dragging Police Officer During Traffic Stop
A dirt bike rider in Ohio has been indicted by a grand jury on multiple charges for allegedly fleeing a traffic stop, colliding with and dragging a police officer under his bike as he drove away.
The Cuyahoga County Prosecutor's Office announced Andrew Fusco, 29, is charged with two counts of felonious assault, one count of failure to comply with an order or signal of a police officer, and one count of obstructing official business.
According to the prosecutor's office, Fusco was allegedly recently among up to 150 dirt bikers attempting to cross the Detroit-Superior Bridge into downtown Cleveland when he disregarded a Cleveland Division of Police officer's signal to stop.
Fusco allegedly collided with the police officer, and dragged the officer underneath his dirt bike, prosecutors said.
The officer was transported to a hospital with injuries.
According to local reports, there were multiple collisions in the chaotic scene at the bridge as the crowd of dirt bikers sought to get around the police cars that were trying to stop them.

"This is just one example out of many where dirt bikers do not listen to police and attempt to take over our streets," Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael C. O'Malley said in a statement about the charges against Fusco. "This lawless behavior is incredibly dangerous not only to police officers but also to our community."
Fusco was arraigned at the Cuyahoga County Justice Center, and his bond was set at $40,000.
