An Arizona man has been arrested and charged with murder after he allegedly attacked his disabled mother, according to authorities.
Around 2:45 on April 21, officers responded to a report of a domestic violence incident at a residence in Bullhead City, according to a press release from the Bullhead City Police Department.
Once at the scene, police found a woman, later identified as 55-year-old Janice Lynn Houston, badly beaten. She was transported to a local hospital and pronounced dead, officials said.
Police identified her son, 27-year-old Joseph David Houston, as her suspect killer and he was immediately taken into custody outside of the residence.
According to authorities, a family member reported that Joseph assaulted and choked the victim on April 20.
The following day, Joseph tried to enter the home, but he was refused, police said. He then reportedly threw a rock through a sliding glass door, and the family member ran to a nearby store to call for help.
