Ohio suspect arrested in connection to murder of two men in two jurisdictions within one hour
An Ohio man allegedly fatally shot a man in the early morning hours and then drove around six miles to kill a second victim, authorities said.
Marc Henderson, 23, faces murder charges in connection to the March 6 deaths of David Francy and Richard Kelsay.
Henderson allegedly admitted to police he left his home in Delhi with a high-powered rifle and went to 27-year-old Kelsey’s home in Green Township “and shot the victim several times,” The Cincinnati Inquirer reported, citing court documents.
Green Township police received a 911 call from Kelsey’s neighbors, who reported hearing six to eight shots. Officers found Kelsey’s body around 4:14 a.m., WCPO-TV reported.
Officers in Cincinnati responded to a call about gunfire at an apartment building around 16 minutes later and discovered Francy, 47, also suffering gunshot wounds.
Both men had been shot multiple times and succumbed to their injuries, police said.
At 5:21 a.m. the same morning, police in Delhi responded to a 911 call about an overdose from a man named Marc at Henderson’s apartment, WCPO-TV reported.
“I think I was the victim of, like, a date rape or something…” the caller told an emergency dispatcher in the 911 recording obtained by the news station.
When asked what was going on, the caller responded: “I’ve been hanging out with these guys and they’ve been giving me stuff, and I thought it was something I needed. But it’s definitely not.”
Asked if it were drugs, the caller said, “Yeah, drugs. Anything. Anything I could get my hold on…get my hands on…it was coke, crack, anything. But they all did the same thing.”
The overdose was “related” to Kelsay’s murder, officials said, according to The Inquirer.
Henderson was arrested and was being held on a $1.5 million bond at the Hamilton County Justice Center.
Investigators have not officially commented on a possible motivation for the double homicide.
