A man who allegedly robbed and murdered two people was arrested in Alabama, police said.
On Aug. 31, U.S. marshals spotted a silver Dodge Ram traveling towards Decatur, Alabama, from Birmingham with the suspect Ricardo Bass as an occupant. When the vehicle stopped, Bass tried to run but was quickly apprehended.
Authorities labeled Bass as wanted in connection to two robbery homicides that happened in two separate cities on the same day, according to WHNT.
Officers were called to the Wavaho on Wilson Street in Decatur just before 7 a.m. on Aug. 19, where they found a man dead of a gunshot wound, WHNT reported.
Decatur Police identified the victim as Mark Allen Nicholson, according to WHNT.
Chief Nate Allen said Nicholson was pumping gas when he was approached by a suspect, robbed and shot, WHNT reported.
An hour before, Huntsville police had been called to McVay Street in Huntsville, Alabama, where they found the body of Jeffrey Carden, 31, who had been shot to death, according to WHNT.
Police say Bass committed both murders.
Court records show Bass was out on bond when he was arrested in Decatur. He allegedly robbed someone at gunpoint in April, WHNT reported.
Bass was booked into the Morgan County Correctional Facility on a charge of capital murder. He faces an additional capital murder charge in Huntsville, according to police.
