Authorities apprehend wanted man accused of murdering North Carolina high school student in drive-by shooting
A wanted man is under arrest in connection to a drive-by shooting that took the life of a high school student in North Carolina, officials said.
On Jan. 12, U.S. Marshalls took into custody in on first-degree murder and discharging a weapon into occupied property warrants, WBTV reported.
Eaves, 20, is accused of shooting 16-year-old Skyteria "Eva" Poston in Shelby around 4 p.m. on Nov. 9 and then fleeing the scene.
According to the Shelby Star, Poston was sitting in a vehicle outside her family's home when she was hit in the back. The victim’s mother and two sisters heard the shots from inside the house and called 911.
According to the outlet, the victim’s sisters opened the front door as Poston collapsed in front of them on the porch. She was rushed to an area hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Law enforcement officials said interviews and tips from the public led them to the suspect, who is being held at the Cleveland County jail.
