Tennessee Man Accused of Murder For Allegedly Providing Drugs To Teenager Who Overdosed, Sheriff Says
A 64-year-old Tennessee man is accused of murder after he allegedly provided illegal narcotics to a teenager who overdosed, authorities said.
Road workers in Putnam County located the body of Olivia Daryl Taylor, 15, in a wooded area, WSMV reported.
Taylor’s parents reported her missing the previous evening.
The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office arrested Charles “Chuck Carter in connection with the case and alleged he provided Taylor with the illegal narcotics that killed her.
Carter was booked into the Putnam County jail on multiple charges, including second-degree murder, abuse of a corpse, and aggravated rape, according to WSMV.
“This tragic event is another example of what illegal drugs coming across our border into our country is doing to our nation,” Putnam County Sheriff Eddie Farris noted. “Last year, there were over 100,000 deaths from fentanyl related overdoses.”
