A man in Pennsylvania has been arrested after he allegedly beat his wife to death while they were fighting about their cat’s vet bill, according to authorities.
Around 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 28, officers responded to a home in Lower Pottsgrove Township for a report of an unresponsive woman, according to the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office.
At the residence, officers found 84-year-old Barton Seltmann on a rear porch with blood on his hands, face and clothing, officials said.
Inside the house, officers located Barton’s wife, 85-year-old Margaret Seltmann, dead.
Police found evidence at the scene which indicated that the victim was struck multiple times in the head while lying on the kitchen floor, officials said.
Detectives determined the couple was arguing about money for their cat’s veterinary care when the fight turned physical.
