Russian President Vladimir Putin recently addressed the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, pinpointing what he sees as the “three things” to end the war and achieving peace.
Despite the two-year duration of the invasion, Putin admitted willingness to engage in peace talks under certain conditions, the Daily Star reported.
During a discussion with Belarusian leader Aleksandr Lukashenko in Moscow, Putin highlighted three key issues hindering progress: his exclusion from peace talks, border security concerns and attacks on energy infrastructure.
He expressed frustration over the upcoming peace conference in Switzerland, which Russia has not been invited to, yet is expected to participate in solving the conflict.
Putin said, “The idea of holding some kind of conference in Switzerland is being promoted. We are not invited there. Moreover, they think that we have nothing to do there, and at the same time they say that nothing can be solved without us,” according to the Daily Star.
Putin emphasized Russia's willingness to engage in negotiations but stressed the importance of realistic and inclusive dialogue.
