A Louisiana Woman Let Her Ex-Boyfriend Live With Her Until He Found a Job. Then, He Shot Her Dead While She Slept.
A Louisiana man admitted he killed his ex-girlfriend and he will now serve life in prison, officials said.
A judge recently handed down the sentence after Shawn Luke Chiasson changed his not-guilty plea to guilty in the murder case, WDSU reported.
Chiasson was arrested in August 2021 and charged with the shooting death of his ex-girlfriend, Lindsey Williams.
According to WDSU, in August 2021, Williams was asleep when Chiasson fatally shot her in the Marrero home they were sharing with her 11-year-old son.
The boy was present in the residence at the time of the murder.

The couple reportedly had broken up but Williams, who worked as a physical therapist, was letting Chiasson stay with her while he tried to find a job, family said.
Chiasson’s trial started in the morning on July 5, but during testimony, the defendant’s attorney said his client had decided to plead guilty to the charges against him.
