Ohio Father Arrested After His 5-Month-Old Infant Dies From Blunt Force Head Trauma, Police Say
An Ohio man was arrested after his newborn was admitted to the hospital with difficulty breathing and died hours later, police said.
Authorities in Sylvania took Anthony M. Genna, 20, into custody without incident on Oct. 14 in connection with the death of his daughter, 5-month-old Aria Genna.
Shortly before 10 a.m. on Oct. 12, police said officers and the local fire department responded to the home Anthony Genna shared with Aria as well as the baby girl’s mother and grandmother, The Toledo Blade reported.

The child was rushed to ProMedica Toledo Children’s Hospital, where she died around six hours later from what an autopsy later determined was blunt force head trauma, the Lucas County deputy coroner said.
According to police, the father was home alone with his baby when the phone call to emergency responders was placed.
Anthony Genna faces a charge of aggravated manslaughter of a victim under 13. He was being held at the Lucas County Corrections Center.
