A man in Florida was arrested after he allegedly beat two of his children so severely that one had to be airlifted to a local hospital, according to authorities.
On May 21, police said they were dispatched to an apartment in Florida City where they found two children “crying and covered in blood,” WPLG reported.
The children's father was taken into custody. Their mother told police her boyfriend, Joshua Xaviar Jordan, 33, had been home watching their children while she worked. One of her neighbors called her to let her know that her children were injured, WPLG reported.
Jordan’s daughter suffered a head injury and was airlifted to a nearby hospital, officials said. The woman's son was treated at the scene.
A third child was unharmed and she told police they were at home with their father when he “started acting erratic and screaming at them to call 911” right before he started to “repeatedly” punch her brother and sister, according to WPLG.
One of the daughters ran out of the house to seek help, which is when Jordan assaulted a neighbor, police said.
According to authorities, the neighbor was heading to his girlfriend’s apartment when Jordan approached him and said he was “having a heart attack” and needed him to call 911. As the man was calling emergency responders, Jordan allegedly started punching him and then picked him up and “slammed him to the ground,” WPLG reported.
During that altercation, the neighbor’s girlfriend brought the girl into her apartment, locked the door and called 911, officials said.

While Jordan was in the back of the police car, officers said “he started being aggressive, kicking the windows” and an officer had to use a stun gun on him.
Jordan was eventually taken to a local hospital for medical clearance. There, police said, he told officers that he had “smoked some ‘molly’” and couldn’t recall anything that had happened, according to WPLG.
Jordan was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a $14,500 bond, officials said.
He was charged with two counts of aggravated child abuse causing great bodily harm and one count each of battery and resisting arrest.
