A school board educator is accused of touching a teen during a trip to Florida, police said.
Andrew Freeman, 34, was arrested by the Polk County Sheriff’s Office in Florida on July 6. Freeman is from Pittsburgh and a school board member in Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania.
The investigation started after a 17-year-old girl told a family member that Freeman had kissed her and put his hands under her clothing. The victim was in Florida for a vacation with family and friends, including Freeman.
The victim said the incident happened on July 4, according to the sheriff’s office.
The teen said Freeman sat down beside her, rubbed her thigh and then moved his hands under her shorts, according to the sheriff’s office. A family member came into the room and saw the two nose-to-nose.
When police arrived, Freeman said, “this is not good,” because of his role on the school board, according to the sheriff’s office.
During an interview, Freeman allegedly denied the allegations and then admitted to the alleged crimes and said, “mistakes were made.”
