A 25-year-old Florida man met an 11-year-old girl on a dating app and police say he drove to Alabama where he raped the girl in her backyard.
U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Keith Norris Williams met the girl on the dating app "Badoo," according to authorities.
In October 2020, Williams drove from his airbase in Okaloosa County, Florida, to Decatur, Alabama, and raped the child he met online, police said.
Officials said no one knew about this encounter until Williams sent a friend request to the victim in February 2021 to a Facebook page her father set up.
The father intercepted the friend request and proceeded to send Williams a message pretending to be his daughter, asking “Do I know you?” police said.
Yahoo News reported that Williams replied that he was from the app Badoo.
Williams continued to message on Facebook and described what the girl was wearing on the night of the incident, as well as details about the backyard of her house, authorities said.
He referenced the rape and wrote, “Ima definitely marry you in the future lol,” police said.
After that exchange, the girl’s mother asked her daughter about it and the child told her about Williams’ visit and the assault, officials said.
Her father immediately informed police, and the girl told investigators she and Williams had sex in the backyard of her family home, police said.
The police report was filed in February and Williams was arrested on April 30 in Florida. He was extradited to Alabama on May 15, officials said.
Williams was charged with first-degree rape, traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act and electronic solicitation of a child. He was released on a $60,000 bond.
