Florida Airport Worker Allegedly Recorded Travelers, 11-Year-Old Boy, In Bathroom Stalls, Police Say
A Florida man was arrested on suspicion of video voyeurism after police investigated a complaint from an 11-year-old boy who was allegedly spied on in a bathroom, authorities said.
Michel Fernandez Fuentes, 46, was employed with a food and beverage company at the St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport when the alleged incidents occurred in June.
According to an arrest report, the child was in a bathroom stall at the airport and saw his image on the defendant’s phone, which allegedly was recording him from under the door, WTVT reported.
A second victim unrelated to the child used a stall several minutes later and also reported noticing his image on a phone, detectives said.
The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office said investigators seized Fuentes’ phone and recovered 160 images taken in bathroom stalls between December 2021 and February 2022.
Detectives noted Fuentes’ accessed his phone’s camera and photo gallery around the time the two alleged victims claimed they were spied on.
Fuentes denied he recorded the pair. He was booked into the Pinellas County jail on Sept. 9 and released on a $15,000 bond the following day.
