Florida man arrested for murder months after slaying at Holiday Inn, cops say

A man was arrested this week in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred at a motel in West Palm Beach, Florida, in October 2021.

Claudio Ivan Valdiviezo Samayoa, 29, has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder, according to Local 10.

The shooting happened around 11 p.m. on Oct. 15 at the Holiday Inn Express at 2485 Metrocentre Blvd in West Palm Beach, Local 10 reported.

Officers arrived at the scene to find a 24-year-old man face down in the parking lot of the motel, according to Local 10.

Police say the victim was shot to death, Local 10 reported.

Police say the gunman, identified as Valdiviezo Samayoa, ran to a waiting car and fled the scene, according to Local 10. Investigators have not released a motive for the shooting.

Valdiviezo Samoya is being held at the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Main Detention Center, Local 10 reported.
