Florida Man Allegedly Hid Cell Phone In Bathroom, Recorded His Girlfriend’s Teenage Daughter, Sheriff Says
A man in Florida is accused of using a cell phone to secretly film video of his girlfriend’s 17-year-old daughter in the bathroom, authorities said.
The Indian River County Sheriff’s Office arrested 25-year-old Miguel Angel Oliva Fajardo of Vero Beach on May 1 and charged him with video voyeurism.
According to investigators, Fajardo’s girlfriend discovered the alleged 44-minute video in his Gmail account, WPEC reported.
Police said the recording, which allegedly shows the teenager undressing and naked from the waist down, was shot from a phone concealed in a laundry basket.
Fajardo allegedly claimed he put the phone in the bathroom because he planned to film himself in the shower but instead went to cook because he believed he smelled something burning, the sheriff’s office said.
The suspect, the sheriff’s office claimed, allegedly admitted he forgot the phone was recording and said it was unintentional but he was aware the underage girl was going to take a shower after he was out of the bathroom.
The girl reportedly told authorities she did not know the phone was there and recording.
Fajardo claimed he forgot he was in possession of the video because he received a phone call, the sheriff’s office said.
He was being held on $25,000 bond as well as a detainer from Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
