A woman was raped on her way home from a Florida club. Police say they caught her attacker.
A woman was raped on her way home from a club in Florida and police say they have caught her attacker.
According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, a woman was walking home from a club in Tampa, Florida, early on July 25 when she was approached by an unknown man.
The man hit the woman in the face and started choking her. He then raped the woman, according to the sheriff's office.
After the incident, the victim called the police and worked with the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office to create a composite sketch of the rape suspect. The victim described him as a black or Hispanic man who was 30 to 40 years old. He wore a black sleeveless shirt and possibly blue shorts at the time of the sexual assault.
On July 30th, Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister announced that the previously unidentified male suspect was found and arrested without incident by the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Department.
The suspect was identified as Elieser Alverez Lima, 31.
Lima was charged with sexual battery as well as kidnapping and aggravated battery with great bodily harm, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. He is being held at the Orient Road Jail while awaiting trial.
