A drug deal went bad in a Florida hotel late last year and a Florida lawyer faces murder charges after a month-long investigation, police say.
The shooting happened on Nov. 3 at the Sheraton Orlando North hotel, but police have released few details about the incident.
Raegan Yunger, 42 years old, was an initial suspect in the hotel shooting, according to the Orlando Sentinel.
She was arrested on drug charges days after the shooting as police continued to investigate. Yunger was released on bond the following day.
After a months-long investigation, Yunger was indicted on the murder charge last week, according to the sentinel. However, she was not arrested until this past Thursday, as officers saw her outside her law office carrying a “cumbersome amount” of bags.
The bags held cell phones, laptops, a wallet, a pistol, 2.1 grams of meth and other items, according to the Orlando Sentinel.
Police stopped Yunger as she was trying to leave the parking lot in a vehicle driven by another person, who was later arrested for meth possession. As far as the gun that Yunger was found with, police have not said if it was the murder weapon. It was kept by the Sheriff’s Office for “further processing,” according to the report.
Yunger was charged with first-degree murder, heroin possession, possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of possession of methamphetamine.
Yunger is currently in the Orange County Jail without bond.
