Six children hit by car in Florida, killing two. Suspect fled the area after crash, cops say.

A man has been arrested after he allegedly hit a group of children with his car in Florida, killing two.

Sean Charles Greer, 27, faces several charges in connection to the incident, including two counts of leaving the scene of an accident with death. Police say he confessed to the crash.

Around 2:45 p.m. on Dec. 27, Broward County Sheriff’s Office responded to a crash with injuries near Wilton Manors, Florida, according to the sheriff’s office.

A Honda Accord, driven by Greer, was traveling south at the same time as a bus stopped to drop off passengers. As the bus pulled out, the Honda failed to allow it to merge and passed it, according to the sheriff’s office. The Honda nearly hit the bus.

The Honda went off the road and hit several children.

Greer then fled the area, police said.

Andrea Fleming, 6, and Kylie Jones, 5, were pronounced dead at the scene, according to the sheriff’s office. Four other kids were taken to the hospital.

Greer was arrested on Dec. 28 and police say he was on probation for a burglary charge also in Broward County.
