A man and woman who police say killed a man and dumped his body in a canal were arrested, according to a report.

Local10.com in reported that Sonia Viviana Domingo Lopez, 21, and her boyfriend, Alberto Godinez Lopez, 24, both of Homestead, Florida, were arrested in connection to the homicide.

Miami-Dade police say they found the body of Adan Lopez Lorenzo, 30, wrapped in a bedsheet and floating in a canal in the 23700 block of Ingraham Highway last week. They say three men fishing in the area found the body and alerted authorities, according to Local 10.

According to police reports, the coroner determined that Lopez Lorenzo died from sharp force injuries, Local 10 reported.

Police say their investigation led them to Domingo Lopez and Godinez Lopez, who both confessed to the killing, according to Local 10. Police have not released a motive for the killing.

Domingo Lopez and Godinez Lopez are charged with second-degree murder and tampering with physical evidence. They are being housed at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center without bond.
