81-year-old killed and buried in a shallow grave, suspect found cleaning blood out of truck
A man killed an 81-year-old victim and buried him in a shallow grave, police said.
This week, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office in Florida charged David Jesse Williams, 30, with first-degree murder in connection to the killing of an 81-year-old man. The victim’s name has not been released.
On March 9, the victim was reported missing to the Auburndale police in Florida. The last time the victim was seen was on March 3.
The woman who reported the victim missing also said Williams had been violent in the past and she was concerned for the victim’s safety, according to Polk County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators did not detail the relationship between Williams and the victim.
Authorities tracked Williams to Georgia and when they found him, Williams was wearing gloves and cleaning a truck, according to the sheriff’s office. Police also saw blood inside the cab and a shovel in the truck.
Williams told police that he used a black rope to choke the victim to death in Polk Cunty and then moved the victim to the truck. He took the victim to Georgia and buried him, according to the sheriff’s office.
The victim was found in a shallow grave and had a rope around his neck, according to the sheriff’s office.
