Man Killed Woman Who Was Reported Missing, Moved Her Body Into The Woods: Cops

A man has been arrested and accused of killing an elderly woman who was reported missing earlier this week, police said.

On April 8, police in Tallahassee, Florida, announced the arrest of Martin Barrett, 59. He was charged with second-degree murder in connection to the death of Cecilia Lopez-Quessada.

Lopez-Quessada was reported missing on April 5, according to Tallahassee police. She was last seen on April 3.

Authorities investigated and found probable cause to arrest Barrett, according to police.

Investigators said Barrett killed Lopez-Quessada and then moved her body to a wooded area in Florida. Lopez-Quessada and Barrett knew each other, police said.

Police have been mum on many details of the case, including a possible motive and how the missing woman died.
