The Remains Of A Woman Reported Missing Were Found Near A Retention Pond. Police Say They Arrested Her Suspected Killer.
A man has been arrested in connection to the killing of a woman reported missing, and whose remains were later found in a Florida retention pond.
On March 30, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of North Samuel Cole Pridgen, 29, in connection to the case.
In late September 2021, officers with the sheriff’s office started to investigate the case of Teresa Janette Gorczyca, who was reported missing. Police searched for her and as it progressed, they went to a body of water in the Sandalwood area of Jacksonville.
They eventually found remains, which were identified as Gorczyca, according to the sheriff’s office.
Police continued their investigation and identified Pridgen as a suspect. Though, the sheriff’s office did not detail the relationship between Pridgen and the victim.
Officials arrested Pridgen on March 29 and he was charged with murder.
