She Told 911 Dispatchers, 'He Has a Gun, He's Going To Kill Me.' Seconds Later, Her Husband Pulled The Triggger.
A Florida woman called 911 to say, “He has a gun, he has a gun, he’s going to kill me.” Then her husband did just that.
The killer will now spend the rest of his life behind bars.
This month, a judge in Florida sentenced Raymond Colon, 55, to life in prison for the killing of his wife Victoria Medina, according to the Naples Daily News. He was convicted after 30 minutes of deliberation.
The jury found him guilty of first-degree murder following a 9-day trial.
On Dec. 9, 2018, police in Florida got a 911 call from Victoria, according to the Daily News.
"He has a gun, he has a gun, he's going to kill me... he just shot me," the woman said in the 911 call, according to the State Attorney's Office, and reported by the Daily News
Another 911 call came in about a man, later identified as Colon, walking down the driveway and holding a gun, according to WINK News. Colon then got into an SUV.
Police arrived at the scene and a white SUV pulled up behind a patrol car, according to WINK News. A neighbor told officers the driver of the SUV was the shooter and Colon was taken into custody.
Victoria was found in the driveway with multiple gunshot wounds and taken into custody. She was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
A motive for the shooting has not been released. Victoria’s daughter, Veronica, said her stepdad, Colon, took away the “world” from her.
“I understand that he’s the man that raised me for 11 years,” Veronica told WINK News in 2019. “I understand he was the only father figure that I’d ever known in my life. But he also took the most important thing from me.”
She then said that he deserved whatever punishment was handed down.
“He took the most important person,” Veronica said, the TV station reported. “He took my world from me and at the end of the day he’s going to get what he deserves.”
