A 61-year-old man killed his female roommate, police said, and now he faces a murder charge.
Last week, police in Pensacola, Florida, announced the arrest of James Hicks in connection to the case.
On Aug. 12, police responded to a home on Aqua Vista Drive for a possible cardiac arrest, according to WEAR-TV. When police arrived, they found 65-year-old Terri Jo Williams in the front yard.
She was pronounced dead at the scene.
An autopsy determined Williams died of asphyxiation and her injuries were consistent with a struggle, according to WEAR-TV.
Police spoke to her roommate, Hicks, about the case. Police said they believe he committed premeditated murder. Hicks is being held in a Florida jail without bond.
